AnyOne noticed that the Neotel WebSite is down.

This does not bode well

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /neotel/view/neotel/en/page1.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Reports that they have an Open DNS Server. I was considering swoppingto their DNS Server sfrom SAIX, but am having second thoughts

Lets see how long they take to respond

I'll play conspiracy theorist on this one....

Don't forget we still have to rely on Telkom's Infrastructure.... and we all know how Telkom play the game. This could be entirely their fault cos they're feeling threatened by Neotel.

Not a DNS problem.

Seems to be a problem with their content management system, as the first "/" request still manages to redirect to the landing page.

Could be a hung database or something. Their website is managed by www.cambrient.com, hence nothing much of a reflection on Neotel itsself.

At some point in any data packets life in this country, it travels across Telkom's network... There are a few satellite international links out of this country, but other than that, the majority of international connectivity has to cross thru Telkoms lovely SAT-3 ripoff cable, and likewise most of the big ISP's obviously have to lease their bandwidth from Telkom even for local connectivity.

Hope that answered your question somewhat...
