In front of my PC...............
Just checked and I do seem to have neotel coverage in my area, but its only for the lite packages, it seems pretty tempting, should I take it? Or wait...(for how long?) to get the Prime package?

Spoke to Neotel "agents" just up the road from me. they came out to do a tests, I get 3 bars on the Neotel phone. Oh and he said that incoming and outgoing phone calls will not cut the internet connection:confused:

We also got Lite coverage recently. The 156 kbps is a bit on the slow side, but the uncapped option will probably give you good value if you download stuff 24/7.

Is one able to port Telkom numbers to Neotel yet?

Maybe he distinguishes between a connection being cut off and being suspended. Making/receiving a phone call will suspend your internet activity. You will not be disconnected though and as long as the server you're connected to doesn't kill your idle connection, you should be able to resume from where you left off when the call is ended.

According to the neotel guy he said that by next year match he will be able to port telkom numbers!!!!!!!!!

Porting: THis WILL only be possible when ALL testing has been successfully completed - March is an estimate time frame - lots of systems between Telkom / Neotel have to either developed or commissioned.

So March sounds like a good target but lets be realistic...

This is not true. Well for the lite package. When I`m connected to the net, and try to phone my Neotel number, I get a "the person is currently on a call...." and then it hangs up. I`m using the Lite 2G package.

I had the same problem but called in and was given a code to enter to fix that, for the life of me I can't recall what it was, phone in and ask or if possible aks for Alfred and he will tell you too.
