When last was this map updated? My area says no signal (says map), but a friend of mine brought his modem over and there was an average signal. i.e downloads between 70 and 100kbps.

Afterthough: Please put a signal tower in Greenstone :P

Hi,

Maps are not out dated. The signal you / your friend maybe receiving is spillage from surrounding base stations and maybe of poor quality.

In this case Neotel prefers not to indicate coverage for that area to ensure that the customer experience is not impacted.

It has been noticed that some customers provide alternative addresses to their actual home address in order to get the service. The customer then proceeds to use the service @ their actual home address and subsequently experiences poor network service.

Only when new base stations are brought on air for a particular area are coverage maps updated.

Hi Neotel,

Even though the maps are not out dated, the question still remains: How long will it take Neotel to rollout their services.

I own my own company and it seems a bit of a waste of time for me to wait for clients to approach me, I prefer to go out and look for business.

Having said that, would it not be better for Neotel to put up base stations in all major cities in South Africa and then follow that up with an advertising campaign to tell clients that they have arrived? We know that Neotel have the money to smear South Africa full of base stations with the backing from the TATA group.

Instead, I get the pleasure of phoning Neotel once a month only to be told that they do not know when they are coming to Pietermaritzburg and cannot give me a time frame. Well that's great! Did you know that Pietermaritzburg is the capital of KZN and should be considered before Durban for these rollouts. Anyways, that's off topic.

All that I am saying is that you have potential clients out there want nothing more than to use your service, but it's not available!

It's a sad day when competition is opened to the market, competition that has pushed down the price of communication, yet it is not available in your area.

Any idea when Neotel will be in Pietermaritzburg?

Thanks

Is it at all possible to get a vague clarification of when Neotel are planning on expanding to the smaller cities, Port Elizabeth in my case?
