Hi there all. Wonder if anyone can give me there experience in this product. I would like to hear from people who have the actual product.

I am thinking of changin to then as they can offer me Fibre access 5mb for R5100.00 per month and 12 sip channels added to thi for R500 extra.

What we pay currently to telkom for 3 ADSL lines + all other incoming lines amounts to a lot more than this option.

What speeds do you get, say to local servers on speedtest.net

If you can reply with say 2mb and 5mb speeds.
Reliability

Thank you

Can't comment on the 2 or 5 meg products, but our 10meg is solid, reaching full speed any time of day. We have had it for about 18 months, and have never had any real issues.

Great product. Theres no point in me posting a speedtest because its currently broken.

What I would say is that this product is not for you if you need 100% reliability. Since August we have had 3 downtimes, 2 lasted 20 minutes each, the last one lasted 8 hours (phone lines only). I would definitely recommend keeping an ADSL line + 2 telkom lines for failover when Neotel goes down.

Note the lines are SIP lines, check that your PBX supports it :)

Also interested in getting neotel fibre. We need the synchronous upspeed/downspeed. We use voip (5-7 lines). So if broadband fails so does all communication.

Make sure that they provide you with some SLA or discount structure for outages. We have been using Neobroadband 10Mbps (and 4Mbps Wimax as backup) for the last 18 months and there is nothing worse than your SSH connections dropping due to jitter. The service itself is not really reliable and we have recorded at least 2 outages per month. In almost all cases it is their core network and has never been a line issue. We swopped out their fibre CPE 3 times due to issues (that was in the beginning).

Tech support is shocking - you will always only get the answer "it has been fixed" and never an indication what actually went wrong. I can't comment on the SIP service but plain TCP/IP service (especially for SSH) is poked most of the time. Web- and email traffic works but there are days when there is zero traffic on our line and download speed is about 200KB/sec (it should be around 800KB/sec).

We will now try dual 20Mbps fibre via IS with breakout for internet from our hosting environment.
