Neotel - Neoconnect lite Your thoughts please

I am thinking of getting the NeoConnect Lite "uncap" package. Have a few questions for all the already happy users.

1. What is the surfing speed - according to www.speedtest.net?
2. What is the Download and Upload speed - I know it differs are to area
so average will be fine
3. How much can I download on a month basis in GB - full time 24/7?
4. Does the unit have a USB and RJ45 connector?
5. Game playing - BIG NO NO or not?
6. Does anyone download torrents and Rapidshare on this package? Is it possible?

Exactly what I am looking for too. If I may, here are some more questions:

8. How big is the device? (pics) The power supply?
9. Can you run it on win98 or Ubuntu? I would want to have it going on a VM running from work computer if possible...
10. In addition to Q 3, how much can I upload/m?
11. uTorrent & Limewire etc- do these require port unblocking?
 
For number 6 above, are they happy to open these for you? I would not be happy with an epic 3 month fight to have a few ports opened...

I got my device. Sent out the mail to open the ports while at the office. When I got home and installed my device the ports were open.
 
Thank you Ninex. If anyone else has NecoConnect Lite please post the speedtest results, I will appreciate it

Hi,

My speedtest done this evening:

Download: 134kbps
Upload: 58kbps
Ping: 942ms

I only got the device this afternoon, so I can't really tell you if that's the average for this time of day...

Thats what alot of us are getting on Prime at the moment!!!!!
 
Actually the lite speeds are better than my Prime.

Last night I was on:

Download: 58kbps
Upload: 20kbps
 
NeoConnect Lite - Vista Blue Screen

Hi Guys

Anybody else having this issue? I have Vista 32bit and got the latest drivers from the Neotel website. My system randomly blue screens and according to the WinDbg (Microsoft Debug) tool after investigating the memory dump file, it points to a file called "umpusbvista.sys" that is causing the problem.

This file is part of the drivers for the Lite device.

I have phoned Neotel numerous times - only ending up wasting time playing around with my IE security settings. My IE IS NOT THE PROBLEM, NEOTEL. The drivers clearly are. :mad:

My machine has been re-imaged to factory standard, so it is not related to operating system issues.

I have checked for conflicts on the USB ports, but cannot find any issues there.

Any help is highly appreciated. After every BLUE SCREEN, one has to hard reset the computer. :eek:

I am currently running a Vista 32bit (SP1) with a NeoConnect Lite and have no issues with installation or operation.
