I read a lot about the negative service from Neotel. I must admit that I am now hesitant to move to them, although I would love to.
Surely it can't be all bad news out there? Or am I being naive?
Perhaps someone can create a score card where people can rate Neotel?

Read some of the revews of NeoTel products on the site. Most of their offerings seem rushed to market and not very well considered. And above all, 24 month contracts are very, very bad.

I think part of the problem is that you expect bad service from Telkom - so when you get it you are not surprised.

With Neotel being new they have to let their reputation of bad service sink into the consumer market - so then people won't be surprised when they actually encounter it.

I would recommend Neotel to you if you are in an Excellent coverage area and don't mind having to put up with really bad customer service, phoning them many times a week, not getting any feedback, and having the occasional scream and shout.

I am on uncapped and I get good download speeds - so for me I don't mind having to deal with the occasional inconvenience of dealing with Customer "support".

In general? Or particularly wit neotel?

I signed with Neotel end october 2008 and have no complaints whatsoever.

The per second billing is worth it alone for me. My wife has to make a stack of business calls (own business) from home and the bill is a joke (R0.05 for a mobile voicemail call (2sec) vs R1,80 Telscum) , but her telkom account at work is scary.
