I have applied as a trial user at Neotel. I hope that the trial is successful ad that I can say cheers to both Telkom and Sentech.

Not sure though if I will be able to retain my existing telephone number.

I believe that Neotel will use CDMA2000. A Pity that Neotel does not have a license to enable handover between Towers. Then I could say cheers to Vodacom as well.

I applied aswell (quite a while back), haven't heard anything promising though... I'm pretty sure the trials have started already though

Well geographical number portability is active since the beginning of the year already so in theory you should be able to. One thing has to be kept in mind though. You will be taking your number away from telkom and I can only think that they will make it nearly impossible to take your number across.

With neotel bein controlled by ESKOM do you think you wont get a bandwith load shedding????
Imagine if you live in Bedfordview u wont have power or telephones

You are wrong.......Neotel is controlled by the TATA group

So it will be Tata Telkom......
