Hi everyone!

I have a problem, been doing some online searching with no luck, and been told by neotel that the problem lies in my computer and not on their side. (First off, Ive had great service from neotel from the beginning! - this is the frist time they havnt come up with a solution that makes me happy - :) - or solves the problem!)

I was lucky enough to be upgraded from the unlimited phone package, to the wimax unlimited. On the first package my speeds ( uTorrent) were a regular 25kBs.

With the wimax I bought a Billion wireless - N ADSL Router - 802.11n ADSL2+ / Broadband router ( I get wireless throughout the house for the iPhones and iPods)

Once the wimax was installed my speeds were (see below) very impressive up from 25 kBs to 250kBs :D (For those of you running uTorrent use this link to upgrade your settings http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/optimizing-torrent-speed.htm )

Now, as one can see from the past weeks tests ive lost 33%...

This ive been told has to do with my computer...

The only 'strange' thing that happened to my computer in the past week was that I ran a UNIBLUE registry / speed program.

On neotels side, Mondays rain storm caused an intermittent signal and i was off line for a few hours at a time over the next day or two... (Neotel sorted that problem out quickly)

Michael at Neotel (very helpful dude) says on his side my signal is very strong :wtf: Im trying to find where my 33% loss went to?

I have run speedtest.net on another computer, and have had the same results as my main computer (This is why im doubting solutions so far)

In the interim while fiddling with my router i found a setting to see intrusion detection:

What does this mean?

My wireless has wpa/wpa2-psk encryption password

Ive run antivirus on my computer ( Super anti spyware) , I have AVG running, as well as Spybot. So I feel safe there.

If anyone has a solution please can you help me?

Thank you!:)

Sounds like Neotel caught on to your bandwidth consumption and decided to shape you some more. From the looks of things they just don't have the balls to admit it.

Thnx Wyzak...

Been doing more tests, n tweaks... and nothing helps, its def not my computer...

decided to test my laptop and do a speed test there, same results as on my computer...

i smell a turd!

There is shaping after a specific amount per month but I think you need to be hitting a very high amount.

I have the 1mb service and just over 560GB, pretty impressive and no shaping what so ever.

Did you chat to Michael Macubel or something?
