Hi, I ordered an ADSL line 7 weeks ago tomorrow (Thrusday), and no one came to install it yet. I phoned Telkom countless of times and they keep telling me that they will send the techs an email to put more "pressure" on them, since the installation was planned for the 30th of May.

I would like to know if this is normal, and that I can put my fears to rest because it's really getting on my nerves. Specially when one of my mates went to the Vryheid Telkom centre today and asked about this, then the person said that another person is also still waiting for their line and they ordered in December 2005.... Not something I was hoping to hear. I live in Vryheid by the way. Can anyone help me out? Would appreciate it alot

Unforunately you never know with Telkom, it seems some days they are responsive and give good service whilst other days its the other way around. I ordered my ADSL about 3 weeks ago. I signed up over the internet and recieved a call from them the next business day, hope I don't have to wait long!

Dronk verdriet is what Telkom is causing me at the moment :P but yeah! anyway! I appreciate the responce, more would be appreciated. My main fear = that they won't show up at all, or they will just take 2-4 months to do so
 
Dewd... Before you go and get to worked up and think that it's personal, read this. Telkom hates us all, and loves watching us squirm.

Every post refers to the same content with link.
We call these guys the Post and Run Spammers.
We have one or two everyday on MyADSL.

Not to worry, we will sort him out. ;)

EDIT: and I've been looking for an excuse to use the word befuddled. :)

Yes RPM has probably banned the user who was spamming, hence the gap in the posts.

lol, nope.

Gimaru, I ordered ADSL 25 May 2006, Telkom has yet to give me a install date.
 
I ordered ADSL in Aug 2005. It took a month from order to install. I called them atleast every 2 or 3 days. Finally i got an install date but for some reason the tech showed up 4 days b4 the date i was given. Luckily there was sum1 at home to let him in. I hav a feeling i would hav waited alot longer if no1 was home when he pitched early
 
Nothing new. I ordered on the 6th of March, earliest expected date of installation(no guarantee however) is the 30th of november.

I actually got phoned by Telkom on Thursday saying that a tech will be here the next day. Next day I'm phoned by the tech asking what he's suppose to do at my house.. Then came up with he's still waiting for the modem. So, hopefully I'll have this done on Monday-ish
 
You just have to pray n hope the tech shows up at your house. I was given two installation dates one which the tech missed on 21 June and another on 18July, which they missed again. If anybody can help me on how I can get them to commit to the installation dates please tell me coz i am running out of ideas.This is getting too frustrating.
 
Hellll yeahh I'm on the ADSL now, they came today (Tuesday). Ordered 28th of April by the way, missed 3 installation dates. Dazzla, it might just be a coincidence (sp) but I phoned Telkom and told them I would rather prefer doing the installation myself. Next day or so they phoned me and said the tech is coming. So they might get a wake up call if they realise their going to lose their precious R400, dunno. Worth a try maybe.

I feel for ya guys with the same problem I had, good luck to ya
