Output/Core Tasks:
• Ensure that input into business requirements reflect an understanding of systems as a whole and how they interact
• Ability to frame technical concepts in a way that business can understand
• Assessment of complex work items to ensure that all requirements are gathered by Business Analysts
• Conduct Impact analysis on complex work items to ensure accuracy and viability
• Assessment of complex work items are to be concluded with a clear solution explanation for use by developer
• Possible issues to be raised timeously in relation to stakeholders
• Unambiguous designs of systems, and forward thinking system designs
• Innovativeness and use of best practises in system design
• Alignment with group architecture standards
• Ensure alignment of system design with business strategy
• Effective transfer of skills to others
• Appropriate / constructive style and climate created that is constructive to learning
Influencing others to obtain the required outcome
Minimum Requirements: (Qualifications and Knowledge)
Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems will be preferable
• Microsoft Certification (Microsoft Certificate System Developer- MCSD or equivalent) would be beneficial.
• Two years’ experience in a technical guidance-providing role, preferably in a systems design capacity
• Five years’ systems development experience
• Proven working knowledge of systems architecture and the ability to apply in a business environment.
• Skilled in .Net framework languages (Primarily C#)
• Skilled in Web applications/services development
• Knowledge of and exposure to UML and other modelling languages
At least one years’ exposure to the long term insurance industry will be preferable
