What will I do every day?
This client is looking for a dynamic and resourceful Senior Software Developer to join and lead their development team. You will take responsibility for complex CMS, eCommerce, and various other application development projects. You will have input into all projects.
You will also work closely with the Client Services team to ensure the successful management and delivery of your projects. You will report into the Operations Director and together you will implement the business strategies and plans to take their team to the next level. A lot of good work has been done to date, and there is still so much more to do, to ensure that their products and service quality becomes known as the best in town. Being a senior position, they are looking for the right person who wants to settle down for the next 5 years and help build something great. The growth potential is huge for both the role and the business.
• Architect, develop, test, and support desktop, web, and mobile applications
• Provide solid, accurate development cost estimates
• Research and evaluate software related technologies and products
• Create standards & process documentation and maintain existing documentation.
• Work closely with the Operations Director to define internal best practices and product solutions to make the development team more efficient
• Implement and ensure development best practices, and programming standards are adhered to
• Continuously improve development processes and libraries for maintainability, scalability and efficiency
• Continuously look for ways to automate processes and implement automated solutions to speed us up
• Design and develop automated testing and maintenance processes
• Perform unit tests on all projects and ensure the development team do the same
• Code audits and reviews
• Assist and support team members on multiple projects
• Assist with driving team members to keep up with projects deadlines
• Support and ‘police’ freelance contractors and ensure they follow Bluegrass processes and standards
• Interact with clients to determine their requirements and needs
• Resolve and troubleshoot complex project issues
• Create and drive the team to create Umbraco packages, to ensure projects become faster and Bluegrass give back to the community
