Extra goals for teams that meet race criteria

NETBALL South Africa announced this week that it had devised a new system to reward teams that comply with the required racial quotas.

NSA president Mimi Mthethwa said it had been decided that instead of docking points from teams that do not meet the quota, any team that had the required five-two ratio on court at all times would receive an additional six goals.

If they fielded a six-one ratio, they would receive three additional goals.

In close matches, this could mean the difference between winning and losing.

NSA regulations require teams to field a ratio of five to two on court at all times – either five white and two black players, or five black and two whites.

On this basis Bafana Bafana should get three extra goals, 2 penalties and four allowable dangerous tackles.

To think, someone or some group of people sat around a table and came up with this.

Amazing.
 
Why can't they just let people (that earn a position in the squad) play it. What I'm saying is, if they are either black, white, purple, pink or blue and they are the best, give the position to them. Don't force a team to pick peolpe at random so that they could just receive extra bonus goals. That takes the whole object away from competitiveness.
 
I don't watch netball, so what would a typical score be? Is it possible to win just by having the right mix in your team without even walking onto the court (is it a court??)?

This lot sound exactly like the last lot and spend as much time wasting tax-payers money.
 
Just a pity they won't get these free goals when playing against foreign teams.

And sometimes we wonder why Africa is so uncompetitive... :confused:
 
thats fcuking brillaint!!! ooooo.. or what they could do is if a team has the required ratio then their hoop, or goal hingamajig can be lower than the otehr team's, so it easier to score!!!

Or, the team with the required ratio can take to teh court with baseball bats and are allowed to do whatever they want!!!

Because the people making the policy are racist prats :( Obviously theyre indicating that black female netballers suck, and the "special" kids need extra help.
 
Mimi Mthethwa is racist first and then stupid or is it the other way round?
This is practically absurd. Instead of injecting funds and investing in netball development she comes up with such bizzare regulations.
Am not sure where w are really going.

Signature. They will turn any white girl who would have liked to play netball, based on merit, in to a racist.

Why can black people not compete on equal footing with white kids?

In mathematical terms..

5 black players on your team means you would score 6 goals less than if the
team was only white.

6 black players on your team means you would score 9 goals less than if the team was only white.

Seems to me the black players are pathetic, and everyone who agrees with the new regulations, agrees tacitly to that.
 
This is crazy, teams who play netball, compete based on the colour of their skin. Screw the game! Its like taking away the queen in chess, if a person happens to be white, because black players can not compete on equal footing with white kids. A queen in chess is about 9 points if you want to weigh its value.
 
That has now gained first prize on my list of "really, really stupid ideas".
If "stupid ideas" were an olympic sport, we would win gold everytime.
 
I would go as far as putting a blame on player. it's clearly a management fault, coaches are supposed to see through this new 'plan' and flattly refuse it. it's confusing and non-reconsiliatory and anti-competition. I fail to make out who's interests it serves.

EXACTLY. It's ludicrous.

What next? Have a full black team with black subs and black management and black support staff will automatically win you the league?
