Netflix and 4K

hi flame certain devices only support Netflix 4k copied from there web site

The following devices support Ultra HD streaming when paired with an Ultra HD TV via HDMI Port 1:

I'm not sure if you can make it out but I'm watching 1080p in my browser.

i'm using a Nvidia Shield tv and it gives you the option in youtube and netflix for 4k

On Netflix app under information it does state 7.63/2160 its 4K cause I can see the difference between 1080p and 2160p.

that rate jumps up and down when I am streaming 1440p

ranges from 5Mbps to full line speed 22Mbps. I don't think one can accurately assume that it's not 4k just because one screen showed 7.63Mbps, dont you think?

I did assume his line speed is 10Mbps, maybe I assumed incorrectly.

lots of factors in play here, good luck to him :)

one thing to note though, you can have a resolution of 4k with a crappy bitrate (pet hate of mine!!)

Just to complicate things further... lol :twisted:

Agreed, give me the highest bitrate 720P instead of the lowest bitrate 1080P.
 
here is a strange result I got, using the YouTube app I get maximum 1080p however if I access youtube via web browser I can manual select 4k and it does play videos in 4K. So it seems its an issue with the app.
