Netflix faces increased pressure

The stakes are high for Netflix

The stakes have risen for Netflix Inc. since the last time the video-streaming pioneer reported earnings.

With more than four new entrants to the Internet TV gauntlet, investors will look to chief executive officer Reed Hastings during the conference call for reassurance.

I haven't seen any announcements regarding price increases for SA subscribers as yet, but because the price, quality of service and diversity of content far exceed anything on offer locally, I'd be happy to cough up a bit more after 4 years of subscriptions at a fixed price, especially after I have gotten used to monthly escalations for just about everything else lately.
