So I downloaded a few episodes to watch offline, logged out of Netflix, put the iPad on Airplane mode and now I can't get into Netflix to watch them offline since I need to sign in using a network connection.

How does offline viewing work?

Ah it's only available to users in the U.K. and US for now. But I've found that if you don't log out of the app, you can disable your internet connection and watch your downloads.

Netflix download is available for the local market, just opened the app now and first thing that greeted me was "Download episodes to watch offline".

Just downloaded a small cartoon now, went in airplane mode and it is listed under "My Downloads" for watching.

I think your problem is logging out ? If you just close the app it should work just fine ?

Why did you log out?

Why did you log out?

Because I was confused. I share an account and was under the impression that the other users wouldn't be able to log in/stream whilst I was logged in, so I generally log out when not using. Now I know that I can stay logged in to watch downloaded content while the others stream.

Also, is there a way to view if another user is currently streaming?

If you are in airplane mode how would netflix know that you are watching offline?

I meant for streaming, not for watching offline. Or would it just tell you that you've reached the steaming limit?

ah yes... it says, "Your Netflix account has reached the limit of active streams"

You can upgrade to a family plan for more simultaneous streams.
