How can I improve quality?
4mbps Line (Telkom)
Premium Uncapped (Crystalweb)
I am using laptop projecting screen to 51" TV (Samsung - HD Ready Only)

The quality is like DVD bought on street.

Mine also battles on 4m during peak times. You can thank the monopoly for that.

Netflix will auto adjust the quality based on what your line is capable of (at least this is how I think it works)

Are you doing anything else online while watching Netflix?

Try it on a capped package and see if that makes a difference....

Have you checked what download speed you are actually getting at different times?

I can play Netflix on 2 screens comfortably on my 4mb line.

Mine is capped, its a contention issue for me and likely slaqq too.

Oh joys.

On my 4mb DSL line (on a capped AH package) most episodes start out with poor quality but it quickly improves.

Thats how Netflix works. It starts off at 220sd and then improves over the next couple of minutes as it measures your line speed.

You can force Netflix onto high quality using a browser. Takes up to 24 hours to change though. Then see if it runs or if it stutters.

Check in your Netflix Account settings that you have quality set to High.

Also make sure that you aren't on the cheapest Netflix package that only allows SD quality.

I used to get upto 720p with Crystaweb on a 4 Meg line, and Netflix will stream at the best possible quality based on your bandwidth. Just also remember to cross check your modem stats and verify your are syncing at the 4096k or the 5Megs (as per the new increased sync speeds).

search on Netflix for this:

Example Short 23.976

This will run a video streaming test starting in BELOW SD up to what ever line speed your connection can maintain.
There is a resolution display that will show exactly what res you are in.

Remember to also try Edge and IE browser as they will give 1080p or higher..

Download speed avg 3.4mbps

I see some of the guys says you must wait 24hrs after setting playback to high quality. Will check it out again tonite.
Thanks guys:)

I get the same speed as you on Telkom Uncapped, and full HD kicks in around 3 seconds after the stream has started.
