Netgear + adsl line Problems

Adsl line Problems

hey all ;)

i have a client who has i sold a netgear DG834v3 to and i am having problems with the line dropping every 5 hours if i look at the logs on the router
so the next day i installed a loan router for the client , it was a DG834G so i can test the router to establish if its the line or the router
i phoned the client the next week and no problems with the line dropping with the loan router :D
ok cool i get the router swapped out under warranty thinking it was the router
3 days down the line the client reports the line is dropping again :(
now i dont know :eek: , the client has phoned telkom and asked to test the line , but you know ****kom and they line testing , i have also tried another filter on the line !!

i have tested the clients 1st router on my line and also had problems with the line dropping at those 5 hour intervals but the second router doing it too !!!

it doesnt make sense that DG834G would keep the line stable and not the DG834 ? Am i missing something ?



I am out of ideas , any ideas guys ? help help :confused:

I have the ADSL Router DG834G. I have been connected for over 23 hours now according to the connection stats on my router.
what is being done on the internet when the router disconnects?
also, I would check the line noise which can be found in the netgear stats and compare that with the norm.
and one more thing. you could try upgrading the new firmware which came out for this router a few months ago.
 
Also check that the router is not overheating, pretty common problem with them
 
tried my account on both routers , line drops
i have this idea its the line .....
