Hi again
Wow Im impressed with Telkom and Nexus for their speedy service in setting up my dsl and uncapped interwebs Amazing service Unlike (k)@(k)lantic
Anyway I am still unable to connect to the webs from my router. Plugged it in and did the setup
tried to connect and it won't all it says is that im connected bu I have no internet access....
BTW im on Windows 7
I did a fw upgrade to the router and it still wont connect, I took a chance and tried to connect my PS3 incase my laptop was being screwwy but alas I failed. It gave an error like no dns server or dns error
on the ps3.
When on the laptop I choose troubleshoot problems and it says that my router is experiencing connection issues and I should reset it and try again or contact my isp...
well did that and all and all.
Btw I have already verified my dsl on telkoms website and made sure that my isp acc is active so it seems to be my router.
I brought it with to my workplace and plugged out my works networked router(it is an adsl modem router) btw mine is too... I connected the netgear router and it wont connect to the internet at work either. Could my router be the problem or am I just an :erm: Maybe my router setttings are incorrect but afaik when you connect the router it should auto steup or be internet ready ?
Maybe if somebody has a netgear like mine.. they could post a screen of how the setup of the router should be all personal info blanked out ofcourse it might help my failure at interwebbibg

Firstly, if you go to Router Status under Maintenance is your ADSL up and running?

Modem
DownStream Connection Speed 4096 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 512 kbps​

I'm going to assume that for most SA ISP's the router settings are quite similar. Here's my DG834GT setup for the Basic and ADSL settings

Basic Settings

Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login? - Yes
Encapsulation - PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
Login - Your ISP provided username
Password - Your ISP provided password
Service Name - leave empty
Idle Timeout - 0
Internet IP Address - Get automatically from ISP
NAT - Enable​

ADSL Settings

Multiplexing Method - LLC-BASED
VPI - 8
VCI - 35​
