Netgear DG834G PPPOE Relay Problem

Hi

I own a Netgear DG834G and I use both its router side of things and PPPOE relay.

The problem I am having is if the router connection is not used my pppoe connection will "stall" for long enough to disconnect me from a game, stall a web page loading, I cant even ping anything yet the connection does not drop.

However if the routers connection is being used the connection never stalls and if I start using the routers connection shortly after my PPPOE windows acc works again.

This is not the only router this is happening on, it is happening on a friends one aswell.

No idea what to do on this one.

im a noob as well but............

i have that router and it:

1. overheats easily
2. blows up

i returned it twice

first one just didnt work
2nd one just overheated on stopped working with the smell of burnt wires
3red one can't even do wirless but i can't return it noe

Well that sucks, its got nice features which is why I want it to work properly

Having no issue with 4.0.1.27 but .30 sucked, wouldnt dial, got stuck on veryfying user/pass, im using dg834g v3 , firmware outside NA+UK , try that.

I just tried 4.0.1.30 myself and everything worked fine except that I couldn't dial via the pc, also got stuck at verifying user/pass. But putting the adsl details in the router it connects fine.

I also have the Netgear DG834G v3 router.

I went back to 4.0.1.27 and PPPOE Relay works 100% again.
I have also been using Route Sentry for a few weeks and it works very well.
