Hi there

So I got the above mentioned router and got it setup to work with a configure ISP's details on the router (always on connection). After I changed from routing to Bridge on the router applied and logged off I can log on to the internet by connecting with one of the 5 different ISP accounts I have and surf and go crazy.

Here is the iteresting part...I can not log onto the router anymore to change any configurations after I enabled the Bridge mode. I keep on getting re-routed to the Netgear website when trying to access the router configs.

Any idea what I can do to be able to access the routers confuration settings again?

When you log in in bridge mode using pppoe, you will by default use the IP settings given by the DHCP server on the ISP to which you have connected and thus won't be able to search for the net containig your router. Easy way is to disconnect the pppoe and then to access the router via your browser. You can see the differences by opening a cmd line prompt and running ipconfig /all first without pppoe and then after running pppoe.

If you connect to the router via your browser, then run pppoe and then open a new copy of the browser (not a new page or tab, open by clicng browser icon) then you should be able to access the router via the 1st browser and the internet via the second browser.

Hi there

Tanks for the reply but I amanaged to get access tgo the settings by resetting the router to its default settings.

I had the same problem, what sorted it for me was to set a static IP for my PC in the 192.168.0.x range. The router kept on assigning an IP out of that range, something like 192.265.x.x. Also my WinXP started giving me the "Partial or no network connectivity" message, which was gone after assigning the static IP, and I could log into the router panel with the 192.168.0.1 IP without any problems. Not sure if that was the cause, but it certainly solved the problem.

Thx for all the help...I managed to get this fixed shortly after I posted this thread. Problem solved thread can be locked for further comments.

Fixed it by resetting the router to default configs and then did the settings required to access the net via bridge mode again and can access the router configs now as well.

I had the same problem on my Netgear DG834GT router. The DHCP server on the router acts up and assigns the wrong IPs, even if I set the router to assign reserved IP addresses. It was a known problem with the router firmware (major complaints about this on the Netgear forums). I upgraded to the latest firmware version for my router and that solved that problem. Assigning static IPs manually on every PC fixes (bypasses) the problem but if you have a large network then it is unpractical.
