Hi All,

Just wanted to know if there is a better option to replacing the Netgear DGN2200, i.e do i buy another one or is there another option i should be looking at that does the same or better at the same or lower price?

Thanks.

(basically i just have max 2 pc's connected and 2 ipads via wifi, i like the longer wifi range that this model gave.)

I just bought one for myself for all the laptops in the house including smartphones and tablets visitors bring. I'm mightily impressed with the interface on the device and the features. The dual antennae on it is also a major plus. I'm not sure what would be a better option. Did the old one die? Lightning?

lightning indeed :(

The DGN2200 is an great piece of equipment. If only it had pppoe relay (aka half-bridge) then it would be perfect. I honestly can't think of any other device that has the same wifi range and ease of use that you could replace it with.

I have a Netgear (DGN2000) and I'm loving it.... won't switch to another brand 'just because'. So Netgear has my vote :)

Maybe it's the wall configuration in my house. I generally struggled to get a decent wifi signal throughout the house until I got the DGN2200.

Eish great to know that people love the DGN2200. Also have one and it is a good router no doubt...using 3 PCs, 2 phones, an iPad, work laptop, Kindle and a Bravia TV...so ya I'm really working this router and I've had no hassles at all.

By the way, whats the latest firmware that you guys are using? The last update was quite a few months ago. Not sure if there is another one but everytime I've done a check through the interface I've picked up none.

What wifi adapters are you guys using? I'm using the WNA3100.

guys any opinions on the TP-link routers?

TD-W8960N is great, just great. I have my desktop plugged in and my wife connects via wifi with her laptop from maybe 5 meters and 2 walls distance, so we're not abusing it. Sometimes I additionally plug in my own lappy as well. Can't say if it's good over longer distances or once you have more stuff hooked up to it.
