Can someone please help me? My netgear DG834 modem/router is not connecting to the internet. It appears it's not correctly detecting the ADSL settings or something, because it seems to believe that my connection speeds are way more than it should be (I have only 192kbs ADSL):

Extract from the status page:
ADSL Firmware Version 1.00.09.00
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 320 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 192 kbps
VPI 0
VCI 38

Also, when the modem opens its little window where it's supposed to load the netgear website to test the internet settings, it's showing the following:

Connection Time 00:00:00
Connecting to Server Disconnect
Negotiation LCP is allowed to come up.
Authentication ---
Getting IP Addresses ---
Getting Network Mask ---

The green internet light is on which, according to the manual, should mean that the modem is talking to the ADSL network.

I'm wondering if the modem haven't perhaps got the ADSL settings wrong? I don't have a clue what this means, but the modem is using VC-Based multiplexing and the VPI is 0 and the VCI 38. Is this correct? I think the modem autodetected this?

Firmware: V1.05.00
Model: Netgear DG834UK (4-port switch)

Oh, btw, the adsl does work, it was just tested with an USB modem. But I need to get this modem/switch working now!

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Ok, nevermind! :) Just got it to work. Found some good info in another thread:

Multiplexing method: LLC
VPI: 8
VCI: 35

Cheers!
