I'm trying to get a netgear DG834GT (Router) and an WG602 (AP) to see each other.. It all works fine when I use a network cable to connect the 2, but I can't seem to get them to connect to each other using wireless.

Should I be setting the AP up as a repeater, or a Wireless Point-to-Point Bridging setup?

When I tell the AP the MAC address of the router, it adds it to it's Wireless Remote Access Point List, and has signal strength, etc. but there doesn't seem to be any connection between the two. I have turned off all security (incl. mac filtering), but still no luck.

I have made the AP's SSID the same as my router's.. Is this correct? I have also told the AP to use DHCP (e.g. get IP from router DHCP server).

I'm pretty bleak, because I thought this would be a simple setup, but I've spent a fair whack of time on it.

Cheers, Nick

Try this

Go to NETWORK CONNECTIONS.
Right click on your wireless connection.
Click PROPERTIES for INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP).
Make sure IP address and DNS server are set to automatic.

Next, make sure file sharing is enabled and both PCs have the same WORKGROUP.
The best way to do this is to click SET UP A HOME OR SMALL OFFICE wizard.
Choose the middle option - This computer connects through a residential gateway...
Enable file and printer shaing.
Reboot.
(NB. This wizard defaults to MSHOME as the workgroup - you can change this later).

On reboot, click on MY NETWORK PLACES. Then VIEW WORKGROUP computers.
Hopefully you will be in luck.
