anyone know who repairs netgear routers (DG834) in jhb? power seems to be stuffed up. is this a common problem and is it expensvie to repair?- thanx

If it is just the power adaptor that has broken, just get an AC/DC adaptor (like the ones Ellies makes), just set it to 12V and use the correct connector pin and it'll work perfectly. :D

Does the router light up when you plug it in? If not, start with a generic replacement powersupply, just make sure that you get at least the 1 Amp model, they are about R50.

My netgear got fried over xmas, but I am sure that the adaptor should still work. I live in the East if you are interested

much appreciated dude but will try the generic power supply first (damn petrol will cost me more than the R50 :) )

the lights do not come on so i guess it must be the power supply
