Can't get this to work for some reason. Plugged the router in the iBurst modem, entered the user/pwd, can get the IP address etc, can ping myadsl.co.za but can't access the site or any site thereof. New router, thus, no access restrictions on anything as of yet. Anyone have a clue to what the problem could be?

Getting the MTU right (FTR: 1352) when your UTD is in a router and not directly jacked into your PC appears to be all important ..try that first, and if still not right, THEN start worrying!

WGT624 / WG511T works flawlessly with iBurst

As suggested above ensure your MTU is set correctly - http://192.168.1.1/WAN_wan.htm

Also best to update your firmware WGT624 (Beta version works fine) and WG511T

Make sure you have the correct versions and reset the modem to the default factory settings after the firmware upgrade then re-enter your network details.

WGT 624v2 working fine here. If yours is a recent purchase it should be a v3 and the firmware linked to above should work for you. See master WGT 624 page if you are uncomfortable using beta firmware.

One known issue for WGT624s is that not all power supplies are created equal. If you start getting random lockups an upgrade to a more robust power supply may solve your problem. It did for me.

Mr. Mercury is exactly right. I did the same and loaded the beta version onto the new WGT624 v3. I still wanna warn those purchasing a new unit. So far, I have had the best experience with Linksys including support, which has been free and awesome, unlike NETGEAR who sell their stuff and for new customers, leave them in a limbo when things like this don't work wanna charge you over 70 dollars just for getting the issue resolved, which in the first case is created by them. I wasted 4 hours just scanning through and testing all different scenarios and finally reading this post. Loading the beta worked. I was next to throwing away this crap. Thanks Mercury!

Problems I faced:
- SMTP failed. I have a VPS (virtual servers) and could not send any emails when connecting to any of my domain accounts. But when connecting to my ADSL direct, it worked. So I knew the problem had to be in this router.
- MSN messenger connectivity: Will not connect unless you load the beta.
- Hotmail: Not accessible until the beta was loaded.
- Web Based Banking: Again, beta version allowed open access.

In a nutshell, if you are a newbie, do not buy this router and go for a linksys.

Cheers:
Sachin
