Netgear WNA3100 Wifi Adapter Problems

Hi, I've successfully managed to setup Netgear Modem/Router, but now I'm having BIG problems with the Netgear WNA3100 Wifi Adapter . It gets stuck on "detecting adapter". Hoping someone can help please. Oh, I', running Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks.

Have you installed the software and is it plugged into a powered USB port?

I have the exact model, it works brilliantly.

Thanks for the reply Khoisan X. Yes, I've installed software (clicked "setup" in setup wizard on CD), but when it asks me to insert the adapter it gets stuck at "detecting adapter". Something's obviously going wrong somewhere. I'm thinking it's perhaps the antivirus?
