I need help adding my PS2 to my ADSL LAN. We have 2 PC's running Windows 2000 and 1 on XP. They're all connected to an ADSL Router/Modem.

I have tried using the Network Access Disk. There are settings that include ID, password, DNS address. I have also tried setting up in-game. It doesn't want to connect to the LAN and always ends up timing out.

Please help.

I'm using the IP address of the router/modem. that I got from ipconfig. I tried using the "configure external network device" from the menu. It starts up a new screen but then fails to do anything and an error message pops up. It says my cables aren't plugged in even though I've tried using other cables (including my Pc's cable).

Are you connecting directly to the router? Is DHCP enabled on the router?

Yes and yes.

Should I be using the DNS settings specified when I log onto the router on my pc?

A stupid question I know, but I have to ask - "ipconfig": Are you using the default gateway address as the router address?

My settings are as follows

DCHP: Yes
Auto DNS: Yes
PPPoE: No

I was using the default gateway address.

Thanks bwana, it's connecting to the network now. Only it's fail 2 of the 5 diagnostics tests - the ping and traceroute.

I think I had the same problems with it failing ping and traceroute. Worked though :)
