I cant connect it says packet data:Authentication failed when i try to connect.I ported to virgin and my number got switched today.Yesterday i could connect but since last night i couldnt connect.

mobile problem - try shutting down phone. - then back on
Hi please send me you details as your ported number needs to be provisioned for GPRS due to the port.

contentment, finally a place that can tell me what the F. is cooking with this damn thing in my hand, 
Got an HTC TyTN 2 days ago. Itz my first PPC so you can imagine my horror at seeing a "phone" without a numerical keypad and then all the bloody things i had to press to get it to do what i wanted...let me not even get into reading the bible that came with it.
Ok, after much trawling of the Net and more confusion from all these techie sites i've finally found u lot...and this Virgin Mobile demi-God u call Gerald who is being helped out by scuz (lol @ the name).
Problem is thus: after many phone calls and dead Virgin website visits i figured that i needed to download the GPRS settings from a .CAB file. Got the file sent to me. Downloaded it and i was off into pocket cyberspace
... until i went and ported last night. Now the thing does nothing but make fone calls. I think i have the same issue as moooey.
Help asseblief.

Got a message from ndlovu_f, sent him the relevant details earlier this morning but am still awaiting news.

Kuk gprs tonight.
Spose its just one of those things. I dont think i've complain about my gprs before, but tonight its a stop - start - stop - start affair.
Is that called latency? , or lack thereof. Anyway, the page starts loading, then the connection has a rest, then the connection kicks in and then it continues loading, then the connection rests some more, and so it goes. Been like this for the last few hours.
Rather, irratating.
But....... it'll pass by and tomorrow, it'll be back to normal.

but seems like this bloody fone is pulling me into your ranks.
Got sorted out by ndlovu. I'm typing this from my TyTN rite now. Got the same on and off issue as y'all last nite. Still a newbie to this but i'm already getting frustrated. I'm worried about this weekend though. Tonite that Cell C weekend special free minute *** starts.

I agree. He helped me with a phone call problem to my friend's mobile. He came back to me within 12 hrs and told me the problem is not on my side, but on the other phone.
My friend ported from MTN to VC and a reroute from VC's side will solve the problem.
