hi guys

have about 200pc's on local network...previous IT admin never did an asset management (pc details)..

other than creating a boring xls sheet with cluttered info - what programs can you guys suggest:

-that provides basic detail - cpu,hdds,ram,o/s - those kind of info
-and gives a nice breakdown of the info (summary too)

thx

if i must - i can do an xls file - just gonna take time

You could try msinfo32, which can be run via login script, en then dump the data in a textfile on a server somewhere. See this page for all the options.

Or even better, try WinAudit. It's free, and the results can be saved directly to database.
