network cabling issues

hi all, having the strangest problems...

im trying to make more lan cables, the colour order i am using is light orange, orange, light green, blue, light blue, green, light brown, brown. I am having such difficulty all of a sudden to produce a cable that works. Using the same cabling and clips i used a few months ago which i had no issues with. I must have tried about 15 times now and only have one working cable.

any ideas??

Sounds like they're not getting crimped correctly. Check that all the wires go to the end of the connector and that they are crimped correctly. Also make sure that both ends match up.

How are you testing the cables?

i'm pretty sure i've been crimping them correctly. and they're definitely making it all the way to the end of the connector. both ends match up.

Sounds like the packet of heads you have are dud.

Also, are you using a proper handheld tester?

i have a feeling it could be the heads. im not using a tester...

Get a cheap cable tester, you can at least tell then which pairs are the faulty ones.
