Network congestion Overport Durban

Hi there ever body,

is anyone experiencing what appears to be congestion on the exchange in Overport Durban?

This has been occurring for months now. High latency in games on local servers, choke levels of choke and loss.

I have run a number of trace routes and all point towards congestion, except for after 2 in morning when no one is around :


Here are the speed test results taken from the saix.net speed test:
Download Speed: 929 kbps (116.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 179 kbps (22.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 134 ms

I currently have a 2meg line with Telkom and a 1meg account with MWeb. Please, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Its been crazy for the last few months. I've tried so many things but haven't had much difference. I was originally on a 10mb and brought it down to around 6mb and things seem a little more stable now, but still not like it was last year.

What figures do you get when using one of those free 1GB accounts from afrihost & cybersmart?

I cant seem to be able to test with another account. Whenever I put the new accounts into my router it will never connect. It only seems to connect with my MWEB account.
