Hi techies, need some help.
I have 2 machines, running of 1 router, 4 port billion ADSL router.
They are each connected to a port on the router.
Each machine gets an IP from the router, DHCP.
They each in turn are running Windows 7 64.
Machine A functions normally.
Machine B running Gigabyte motherboard with onboard network card has the issue.
It connects fine to the network and can see the internet in the network control panel however I am only able to browse if I physically dial up a PPPOE connection. The other machine does it without dialing up but rather from the router directly.

I dont mind physically dialing up but after some time it just disconnects and doesnt redial.
I have turned off firewall and anti virus.
I am at a loss.
Please help.
I have also uninstalled the NIC and reinstalled - no change

It can only be a networking issue or Network adapter setting on the 2nd PC.
If you dial up and connect, it's not a hardware based fault.

Make sure all IP Settings on the 2nd PC are set to automatic, and that your Default gateway's are the same on both PC's when assigned an IP from DHCP server (Router).

If everything looks ok, and still doesn't work then try set a Manual IP and gateway (The same one you get assigned when using DHCP).

Good luck, let us know if u don't come right.
