Is anybody else experiencing Cell-C network as "down" in Lynnwood road?

Just walked up from basement (where my office is) and where I've had good enough signal to connect and download at 1mbps in Dec.

Since the start of the new year, signal has been erratic.

Could it be that the tower alignment has changed? Or is the UMTS900 signal not directional at all?

Has there actually been a change in your RSSI values, or have you just noticed that the throughput is erratic?

If Cell-C changed the alignment of the sector on the tower horizontally or vertically it would affect your received signal.

RSSI values do change over time though due to cell breathing (imagine the coverage area shrinking and expanding as more or less people load the tower).

RSSI values yesterday were sitting at -95dBm, today at -89dBm.
Signal yesterday was 27% to 70%, today at 93%, sometimes even up to 99%.

Reason : bought a USB extension cable, and my E1752 modem is locatel about 30cm higher. The cable does not look neat in my office, but I'll sort it out next week. At least the service has improved as a result.

How has it improved, less disconnections and what speeds do you reach if I may ask?

Pings were down to (ave) below 100ms, in comparison with the (sometimes) +500ms pings. Download speed back up to 2mbps, from (if I was lucky) 1mbps. No disconnections for the 3 hours where I employed the USB cable. Back to WOOSH!!!!
