Who are they?
My client, a digital production agency based in Claremont, has a role available for a Network Engineer.
What will you do?
You will be based in their Claremont office and responsible for managing their IT infrastructure, which will include their company network, server infrastructure and hosting platforms in the UK. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing client VPS platforms and dedicated server infrastructure based at various ISPs. You will need to demonstrate relevant experience along with qualifications, knowledge of networks/server maintenance, website hosting, backup issues. You will have experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering, planning, support and set-up of hosting services. And you must have experience in managing multiple servers with emphasis on maintaining existing infrastructure, not limited to but including, Windows & IIS, .Net Framework, Exchange, Active Directory, MS SQL Service, LAMP stacks.
Can you apply?
• Matric and an IT related Degree or Diploma
• MCSA, MCSE or similar beneficial
• A minimum of 2-3+ years' experience as a system engineer/network support professional
• Experience with setup, support and maintain the infrastructure
• Experience in supporting the internal network and user accounts & troubleshooting
• Project management skills including, the setup of new hosting solutions for our clients, implementation thereof and communicating with clients
• Experience providing and supporting client service level agreements (SLA’s) and responding to our clients during outages, downtime etc. within SLA timeframes
• A solid understanding of web technologies and databases, and how they all work together. For example HTML, CSS, JS > CMS (.NET or PHP) > Database
• Correspond with related suppliers and vendor contracts and relationships
• Ability to troubleshoot and provide recommendations for resolving technical issues, database anomalies, website performance issues related to the database etc.
• Storage networks, backup and data retention Application and web services development (related to hosting platforms)
• Ability to write SQL database scripts
• SQL and database knowledge
• Experience of Telephony and VOIP to support internal systems
• Communicate at a director level both written and verbal
