· Design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment
· Maximizing network and service delivery performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and service outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with Technical architect on network optimisation
· Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources
· Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access; the support and administration of firewall environments in line with Infosec security policy
· Ensure currency of support, operation documenttaion
· Manage routing protocols across the network infrastructure
· Manage and configure firewalls using Cisco, Checkpoint and Palo Alto technologies
· Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information and managing projects
· Upgrading data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases
· Configuration of routing and switching equipment
· Remote support of on-site engineers and end users / customers during installation and ongoing
· Remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
· Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within datacentre’s; liaising with project management team, 3rd line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis
· Integration of services with external vendors and providers in line with Wonga’s business requirements
Skills & Experience Required:
· 5+ years of related experience with Windows platforms in a high paced, highly pressured environment
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or a related qualification
· Previous experience managing complex networks in a highly regulated environment where polices, controls and processes are strictly adhered to
· Diagnosing complex network issues, across multiple sites and technologies
· Proven experience with working in a datacentres and local environments
· Managing and configuring firewalls using Cisco, Checkpoint and Palo Alto technologies
· Ability to configure various types of switches, access layer, distribution and core layer switches
· Experience with and good working knowledge of
o IDS/IPS configuration
o EIGRP,OSPF,RIP,BGP
o IPSEC VPN tunnels
o Radius Authentication
o Vmware networking
o Linux
o DNS, TCP/IP,BGP and internetworking
o Network Design and intergation
o F5 Technologies products
o PCI DSS standards
o Etherchannels, VTP, Spanning tree, RSTP
· A strong work ethic and excellent troubleshooting skills
· CCNA / CCNP Certification preferred
