Anyone know where I can get Networking equipment in the Durban area?

I need:
20 LAN Cable Heads
20 LAN Cable Boots
8 Keystone Wall box (look here for reference)
1 Crimping tool
1 <Tool needed for Wall Box - Lack of name>

I'd preferably not go to a mega-chain store.

Go the ELLIES then, it's just down the road from you.

How can you say Esquire is far from Morningside? Were you home-schooled?

Esquire is in Springfield park if I'm not mistaken - 'Far' would be sitting through the traffic needed to get there, and back, within an hour.
I meant in time, not distance. And no, I wasn't home schooled - Pretty condescending tone you have there.

Anyway, thanks for the information :)

Yeah sorry man. My bad. Long week. TGIF

You could also try Mitabyte, opposite Makro. They are very well priced.

@OP - do you know how to crimp CAT5 and punch CAT5 as well? :)

Save yourselves some serious heartburn and get a cable tester as well - any cheap model will do as long as it can show you whether your cables is 100% or not.

Believe me, CAT5 strands do love to switch places just before you insert these into the RJ45 connector  Had my share of that fun :D

Please don't mistake my lack of remembering names as a lack of skill ;)
My count of cables crimped must be over 9000...

Agreed on the cable tester - I WAS just gonna' wing it and let my switch tell me I'm wrong - But now that you've pointed it our, I clearly need to do more work...

Thanks... :P

Give Transparent Communications in dbn north a call and see if they can help you.
There's also Datanet in umgeni rd.

Bought some stuff from them when I was in a bind... its not brilliant stuff, but it does the job.
