I am looking at wiring my house with network cable.. what standard should I be Going for ?

And where can i get those boxes that you stick to the wall and basically take I network Cable ?

Gonna run a single cable to every room then a switch in the office..
 
You cant stream HDTV over wireless effectively. it what i currently have...

and the ethernet over power (homeplug) stuff is not great and frikken expensive for what you get
 
CAT5 at least. CAT6 would be good too, especially if you want to future-proof a bit.
As for where you can get the wall-sockets: the same places that sell the cables, more often than not. Just don't be cheap here and get something good quality. I don't mean spend R100 on one, but rather spend R15 than R7, it's worth it.

Look for CAT5E (also 1000mbps) since CAT6 cabling is not easy to find unless you have a buddy that can get you some from major company's.
 
Go CAT5e, CAT6 is to hard to work with if you ask me.

flat is only 85m2 so distance is not to much of a problem.. just need to do the planning and sorting out where I am gonna drill what..
 
Just out of curiosity, how much would someone be looking at per meter, for CAT5e?
I'm thinking of stocking up so long for the future.
