Hi all,
So, in my job I require a relatively average understanding of networks within organisations. I would say I have a vague understanding but what I am looking for is some sort of introductory handbook written for professionals, not students. Something pragmatic, not a technical implementation guide.
Im in information security (from a governance perspective) and its damn important I learn the basics of networks to better understand data routing, intergrity, confidentiality and the specific controls that can be implemented to mitigate these risks.
Does anyone know of an easy to read, pragmatic with real life examples type book? A school textbook would obviously bore me to death so I would prefer a lighter read with less technical jargon.
I know there are certain books like Networking for Dummies and Infrastructure for Dummies but these books are technical step-by-step guides of how to set up network.
Any help would be appreciated...
And yes, I know the internet is a great source but I want one source of information with a specific writing style...something for the non-IT person.
