Hey Guys,

This might be a stupid question but please bear with me.

I want to know which software package I could use to most accurately measure broadband network performance. I need to test latency, bandwidth, etc.

Reason is I had ADSL384 but hellkom screwed up my order pretty bad and it never worked cause it kept losing sync. I subsequently got Iburst (which I am not 100% happy with because of high load in the Wonderboom Tower as well as heavy shaping on p2p services, torrents etc.). hellkom now came back and said they found the problem and would rectify my adsl line for the remainder of my 2 year contract (almost a year left).

I want to run the 2 services in parralel for a month and measure each one to see which would be best to keep.

I used M-Web ADSL before (3 Gig) and now use M-Web IBurst (3.5 Gig R599) on a month to month basis. I saw some better deals for unshaped ADSL, ie. GOAL, which I will also investigate.

Any ideas on some testing software or methods would be appreciated.

Cheers
