Network printer

I would like to install a printer on my network - is there anyone out there who can explain to me how to do this.

This is what I have a PC with XP Pro, Netgear DG834, hp jetdirect 200m and hp laserjet 1300n printer - no software or drivers

go through the printer wizard, if the printer have nic cards, don't select lpt or usb ports, choose standard tcp/ip port and create one, select and ip on your network, say yes to share the printer and choose any share name, job done.

 

[XCalibre]

add the printer to the network. It should recieve an IP from dhcp. Print a configuration page to find out what the ip is. You can type that IP in your web browser and you should get a config page for the printer. Get the drivers from hp's website to install it.
