Hi guys,

This is a wierd one hope you guys can help. I recently purchased I-burst, plus antenna etc, and connection is strong and I am quite happy thus far. But experienced a weird problem.

When I browse internet, or download stuff for a while or even play CSS, it would just stop all together, I am still connected, but when i try and disconnect from the Iburst connection, it just doesn't want to. Its like that part stops working, PC is working fine i can open folders listen to music etc, except for the Dialup iburst thingy just hangs, but when I try and restart it would close windows and hang on "Saving your Settings", when I press the reset button, then all is well again for about 2 hours then it does the same thing??

Any ideas???

Well like you say it sounds like a network problem or a problem on your PC. A simple but costly solution would be to get a router.

Are you using Ethernet, or is the hanging thing you talk of their own USB app? Because it would be strange for Windows' dial-up connector to hang.

I guess you can just try reinstalling the iBurst drivers with the latest version if you dont have that already and then recreating the Ethernet connection.

No not running through USB. Because of Antenna, modem is in roof, with network cable connecting my PC. The network cable is 22m long. :o

I will try the router then this afternoon afer work. Strange though cause if I connect 2 PC's and transfer huge files it seems fine.

Then yes, got an Icon on desktop, when double clicking, it gives you username and passw. just like normal dial up. But it just dies as stated earlier with no conversations being shown in the Connection Tray on the bottom right hand corner of screen. When right clicking here to disconnect it won't bring uop the menu until a long period of waiting, and it will just not disconnect after that. Thus need to push the reset butto on PC, then it works fine again.

So ja, just bought a brand new mobo 2 weekends ago and did my PC ground up, so very strange. It's an ASUS M2N32 SLI-DELUXE.

Nice board. ;)

That length should be fine, unless the cable is giving problems, but you say it isnt..

A router should get the job done. cant really think why else it would do this.

Thanks for the help...will try the router and let you guys know over weekend. So check back on monday for a update.

Thanks.

Run Anti-virus and anti-spyware. I have had this problem before but it resulted in a reinstall of everything to fix the problem. The router should fix it as the problem seems to be with just the dial up part. I would still try fix the problem though.

Hey guys,

sorry for the late reply. kk last week was hectic. Had a virus and spyware on my machine...caused chaos. Virus infected lots of .exe files including my HL2.exe..!!!!

So loaded PC Cillin 2006, Ad-aware and a-squared, plus Zonealarm. Problem got sorted and virus etc went bye bye. But still the dial-up thingy still kicked me out after about 2 hours.

Thus I then plug in my router and shi-bang....problem solved. Been playing last 3 days without any glitch, and left in on the whole night last night to see, and it was still online when i woke up.

So just wanna say thanks to everybody, appreciate the help, I am now very happy about that being fixed.
