Hi guys

I was hoping some networking Guru could help me.

I am looking at combining all my servers (a bunch of old P3's) into one VMware virtual server.

I want to run my smoothwall gateway/firewall as a virtual server.

I have a D-link DSL-2500U ADSL router (single ethernet port).

Normally I would connect the ADSL router in bridged mode from the gateway, but that can get problematic. Is there a way to configure the routing table in these routers to forward all traffic directly to the gateway, so I can do the network forwarding there.

Yes it can be done.

You will have to put some planning in to the setup of VMware as well.
Connect the ADSL router to the VMWare Server via one ethernet, connect the rest of the network via the 2nd ethernet. The connect the servers that need internet access to the Smoothwall virtual interface within VMWare.

thanks, Thas exacly the way I was thinking. i'ts just the routing table I still need to figure out.
