I want to improve my network and started thinking of something and want to test it against people that actually understand it.

I have the Ubiquiti Amplifi HD system (3 x Router and 1 x Mesh point). The base router is in a little room below stairs that doesn't allow strong signal out, which I suspect due to a lot of metal in the walls. But the second point does pick it up and form the mesh with the rest of the house. I have a cat cable running from the little room to the tv which is where the 2nd point is located currently. I thought instead of buying another point, what if I use one of my existing older routers to send the internet to the tv side and relocate the current base router somewhere else in the house to strengthen the mesh. Bear in mind that I don't have ceilings and it isn't easy to do wired connections between the points

The other option I thought of is whether it is possible to add a switch directly from the ONT then connect the server in the room onto it and also send the signal to the router elsewhere for internet.

The last option is to actually redo the whole system with something that can do what I need.

Why do you need a switch?
Cannot you connect a LAN cable from the ONT to the router?
