Hi,

Could maybe someone tell me (and sticky?) the various network provider protocols?

Eg. CellC uses UMTS900 network for max speed of 21.2Mbps, then falls back to.... for lower speeds

You might see, I don't quite know what I'm asking. Reason for the question - I'd like to get a 21.1Mbps 3G modem and I'd like to be able to use it across all networks perferably one that is compatible with a Billion 7300WX Wireless-N 3G/ADSL Router.

Cheers,
Cameron.

Need? No - Not today.

But - If I'm going to fork our for something, I prefer to buy best available so that it lasts as long as possible. (My current PC is almost 10 years old and is still running fine - P4-2.6G - just extra RAM and HDD added).

If you get a device that supports 850/2100 or 900/2100 you will be fine.
Remember the faster the speed the quicker your data flies.8ta is the cheapest with their 10Gb package but theyre coverage is not like the settled networks. Cell C, Voda and MTN all 3 got 2GB packages for 149.99
