Hi Guys
Would just like to find out I have a network that someone is setting up for me what they want to do is link two switches together and run a single cable from the router to one of the switches and then bridging the switches together the length of the cable from the router will be about 50-60 meters. What I would like to know will you get a noticeable drop in signal if any at all?

Should be fine. Cat5 cable is good up to 100m.

I doubt it if they use the right cabling (CAT5/5E). Normally you can go 90 meters without any drop in signal quality.

Should be fine if it's a proper cable with the required shielding and made properly.

Hi There,
It is a good idea to ask them what cable it is that they are proposing to use and check it before they install it.
I agree you should have no problem going 90 metres provided the cable is good.

Regards

Tim
