So yesterday I ordered my telkom line, and they said there's no line avail in my area. So lets hope I get it soon. I already bought my router/modem, but afterwards I saw you all don't like the make I bought, so pls dont crucify me for buying a mecer router.:( Now I'm busy working through all the threads on adsl setting up, although I can still see anything specific on setting it up in bridging mode, but I'll keep on searching!
So now I wondered something else.....
I'm setting this up at home, but sometimes there's a office on the premisses that I'm working in, once a month, and would like internet there too. It's a bit too far to connect to this router through a lan cable, but we have an phone system here between the buildings. Is it in any way possible to connect to this router via that system?

Why not go for iBust - at least it will be portable ... I have one @ home (fail-over line) and it works fine. Easy to setup in both Windows and LINUX

Sorry, no coverage here, I checked a while back. But thanks for the reply, it seems to be quiet on the forum today!:D

That is a bit of a problem. Might take forever till there are more lines available.:o

You can also check out Wimax. It's only offered when you can't get adsl.

Think I'll give telkom a month. We are 2 who'2 going to share the connection, so I dont want to change a lot.

What is the distance between your PC and the "office"?

If or when telscam has a line available for you, why not go wireless with Linksys WRT54G? Then you can set it up that the other user use wireless and you use the LAN from the router.

Think its about 1 km. So will wireless go that far?
 I thought your mate is on the other side of the wall.

The wireless part on the Linksys is the connection between the router and your mate, not to establish the internet connection (thats still adsl).

No, he is just on the other side of the wall, it's me who wanted to use the connection in another office too. But I suppose that won't be possible. Thanks

If he is just the other side of the wall the Lynksys will work fine, not 1km? It should work if you get some serious hardware and build a wireless network between the two places.

How is cellphone reception? 3G, GPRS, EDGE are also options to keep in mind for internet connectivity, no game on these though.
