Earlier this week I asked about my laptop that I couldn't connect to our LAN at all. Now, after re-assigning static IP's, both wired and wireless connections are halfway there. I can connect and authenticate on the LAN, but both connections remain 'Local Only', and I cannot see the internet.

Any advice?

Is it vista?

firstly see if you can ping the router.

Then go into the network sharing center. Make sure both wired and wireless connections are on a private network. You can change this by clicking customize, which is on the same line to the right of the network name.

See if that helps

:)

I somehow missed setting the default gateway. All is good now. :o
