I'm trying to connect two PCs with Windows XP. Problem is the both request a password when I load the workgroup. I haven't added a password so obviously I have no clue what it could be . Win XP on my laptop has no such problem. So how do I get rid of the password protection

I *think* this post worked for me

Dolby , you can enter via administrator mode...

with the nice login screen that shows the cool little prentjie of you with your name next to it ... press " alt ctrl " and tap " del " twice. This will bring you to the old win2000 type login where you're able to change your usename.

change it to administrator and enter the admin password, or leave it blank if you didnt enter one... from there you can create a new account.

Enable the guest account on both PCs or activate file and folder sharing on both PCs.
