Morning,

My mates and i live in very close proximity too each (next door and across the road). Besides running network cables across the road to create a lan are there any wireless solutions we can purchase to achieve this? Preferably low cost....

Input much appreciated.

The belkin Pre-N router is quite good at outdoor wireless, has a 40% increase in coverage comapared to normal g standards, and a 60% increase in speed., that may be one way of getting a good network going.

Anyone have an idea on pricing. Cant see anything similar on Sahara Price List.

Hey Phil (Mccrack), :D

Keep in mind that running cables across the road (public property) is illegal!
So if you have to resort to lying a 100m metre CAT5 cable across the road, be very sneaky about it. :D

Wireless is the best option, but lacks the speed of CAT5. If you do go wireless, make sure you enable all the security features, or some muppet on the block who also has wireless will be piggy-backing on your internet connection and pillaging all your bandwidth on porn.

Wireless is actually very safe! as long as u assign mac-addresses and use at least 64bit ur safe as can be! And yeah u do need the pre-N wireless cards ive actually got the Pre-N router but didnt buy the Pr-N cards, but still get the extra 40% covergae, just not the speed.
