Japanese designer Kosho Ueshima of The Industrial Design Studio created Misoka, a nanotech toothbrush that can clean your teeth without toothpaste. The designer teamed up with nanotechnology company Yumeshokunin Co. LTD to develop a toothbrush coated in nanosized mineral ions which move in the water, removing stains and coating teeth to keep them shiny and clean all day. The designer will present Misoka at the 2015 Milan Design Week.

This nanotech innovation relies on special bristles coated in nanosized mineral ions which pass from the bristles onto the brusher’s teeth. Thanks to this high-tech approach, there is no need to use toothpaste, but the trick is to keep replacing the toothbrush every month. The name “Misoka” comes from the Japanese word which means “last day of the month.”

Misoka toothbrushes aren’t completely new; they have been available on the Japanese and Asian markets since 2007. Its appearance at the Milan Design Week will mark its debut in Europe, with the designer showcasing its redesigned version. The new model has a sleek and fluid shape inspired by water and is made of plastic.

Still need a breath mint though :p I wouldn't feel comfortable if my mouth didn't have a minty taste after brushing.

Agreed. I would not use this. Or I would brush with normal brush and toothpaste and then after use this one to get the nano thingy majiggy's onto the teeth.

Stopped using tooth paste about 18 months ago...reducing my exposure to fluoride ...I only brush my teeth with Himalayan Salt ... - after about two weeks of kicking the toothpaste habit...my mouth became uber sensitive, seems like the whole ecology of my mouth changed...tastes became so distinct, more intense.

I have hypertension, and was getting gvol of all the meds, and the specialist visits, that was not really solving/bringing my bp under control. So decided some lifestyle changes were called for, and so my journey into real healthy living started. Adjusted my diet, to keep my body in a more alkaline state...it contributed in me getting my bp into an acceptable range...it was during this stage, I started to lucid dream again, as I did when I was a kid....-after some reading, discovered how to decalcify my pineal gland, one aspect is getting rid of chemical fluoride in your body...hence the dumping of toothpaste.

Himalayan salt...that's like *special* salt right....

time to 'shut down your chakras and shift shiva offa your shelf'

Wellness Warehouse has a pretty good selection of flouride-free toothpastes - both local & intl made.

So you don't need ot buy toothpaste, but you do need to buy a new toothbrush every month. I think I'll skip this one.
